Yes, you’re right. Instagram is having a major glitch today, with lots of people unable to send or receive messages. Although the status update is working fine. The issue is affecting chats, causing frustration as messages fail to go through. Similar issues have happened on Instagram a few times recently, so people are hoping it’ll be resolved soon. I am not sure if there is any official statement from Meta yet.
